Johannes Palsson is a Managing Director at Angel Oak Capital Advisors. Mr. Palsson’s primary focus is on investment research and management of community and regional bank debt across the firm’s investment strategies. Previously, Mr. Palsson led Angel Oak Consulting Group where he helped build a thriving consulting practice serving community banks in over 30 states.
Prior to joining Angel Oak, Mr. Palsson served as Chief Financial Officer for The Brand Banking Company where he managed the overall finance and Treasury function. In 2009, Mr. Palsson was a finalist for the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “CFO of the Year” award. He began his career at SunTrust Robinson Humphry in 1996 where the scope of his responsibilities included interest rate risk modeling and investment strategies. He is a frequent speaker at Georgia Bankers Association risk conferences and served as chairman of the Association’s Financial Risk Management Committee.
A native of Reykjavik, Iceland, Mr. Palsson holds a finance degree from Georgia State University and an MBA from Emory University Goizueta Business School. Mr. Palsson is past chair of Gwinnett Tech Foundation Board of Trustees and previously served on the board of Gwinnett Coalition for Health and Human Services.
